It's got that Cal feeling.... Main zip looks like it's probably new, shape looks wrong to me compared to the overall age of the jacket. Looks 50s?

I will leave it to true Cal experts, but to me it looks very Caly except the epaulettes. Maybe older Cals had them.

If it was police-issued/part of PD contract, most probably yes. I imagine some PDs allowed more freedom than others.

Several details I see confirm to me is a Cal. The batch holder is a nice 50s cal. The jacket is Not the 50s more like the very late 60s or early 70s. Nice find.

Yeah, the hide ain’t the same. Still very nice and worth a buy, but imo early is better.

Older Cals are easy to spot. The folds in the arms tell the basic period of the jacket. Also, the construction quality is much better, especially in some critical areas.
