Under welt

I believe that is what would be called an underwelt. They also make an overwelt. A Cavanagh edge is similar welt that is actualy felted into a double thickness with no thread from welt remaining.

There's no such thing as a Cavanaugh Edge. There is, however, a Cavanagh Edge...

I'm nitpicky about the spelling of Mr. Cavanagh's name.;)

And that is an underwelt.
