I believe it is just shy of 2 3/4" with a crown height of 5".
This was also my first experiment with making my own felt stiffner.
Which wound up working fairly well. Although I think I may cut it a bit more with secret ingredient #2.

That looks really good! I really like the wide brim and low crown for some reason... It just looks right.

Hard to compare since they look like two different hats now. I loved the original but then again I'm known for going overboard.

Keep in mind that the first photo showed the raw body right after I pulled it off the block. It is not how the hat started out. ;)

The photo may also be a bit exaggerated because my block is only 5 3/4" high and that first image makes it look like a 7 or 8" crown.:eek:
It had to have been the angle ofthe photo.

MUCH better. I had the same problem with a Midnight Blue Borsalino I bought - it had more than a 3" brim. I had it blocked, and in the process, the brim was trimmed to about 2.5".
