Is this hat too big????

Looks great. What does the brim measure now?

I believe it is just shy of 2 3/4" with a crown height of 5".
This was also my first experiment with making my own felt stiffner.
Which wound up working fairly well. Although I think I may cut it a bit more with secret ingredient #2.

Now it looks just right. In the first photos, it seems comically big.

Hard to compare since they look like two different hats now. I loved the original but then again I'm known for going overboard.

Keep in mind that the first photo showed the raw body right after I pulled it off the block. It is not how the hat started out.

The photo may also be a bit exaggerated because my block is only 5 3/4" high and that first image makes it look like a 7 or 8" crown.
It had to have been the angle ofthe photo.

MUCH better. I had the same problem with a Midnight Blue Borsalino I bought - it had more than a 3" brim. I had it blocked, and in the process, the brim was trimmed to about 2.5".

Looks great as is! Don't fiddle wid it any more, IMHO. We prefer wide brims (outside of the "Zoot" or "Hasidic" styles) over stingy brims.
