So I purchased a Schott 613s sz 40 from this listing for 675$ USD. https://www.grailed.com/listings/70746380-schott-schott-perfecto-613s-one-star-us40

The sleeves meassured 22.5 inches which is way to short. The sellet stated that the sleeves were 25 inches and unaltered.

I opened a dispute on Grailed and lost becuase they said the seller was transparent? So now I am down 675$ + shipping.

Insane!

Am I crazy. Theses sleelves are way too short right? Also the arm stich seems to be more forward that it should be. It is 3 inches from the side stich. I know the Perfecto has a slight forward pitch but this feels way more pithced than it should be. My other perfecto is only about an inch.

And to top it all off, the seller is a tailor XD.

He is a tailor in Dublin, so beware! Here is his shop https://www.instagram.com/montoandperri/?hl=en, his insta https://www.instagram.com/stevieblake/?hl=enand and his Grailed account https://www.grailed.com/stevieblake.

His name is Stevie Blake and his shop is Monto And Perri. Beware!

For the experts our there, this jacket is definitly altered right?

He claims he bought it by taking of a manniuqine without trying it on.

Here is where he says the sleeves are 63.5cm which is 25 inches. He's 6'2 and the sleeves are not short on him??

Here are the measurements I got.

Did you pay with PayPal? Have you tried opening a dispute with PayPal? Buyers usually win on PayPal.

I paid with my Wise card and I opened a dispute and they said there was not enough eveidence! WTF. They told me to provide all the info I could. And I'm assuming Graild and Wise were overloaded with info and did not see the singluar message where the seller told me the sleeve measurement. I even messaged them back a highlighted screenshots but kept getting generic responses. I will be using Paypal from now on.

On another note, I threw it the jacket in the dumpster as seeing it was ****ing me off and could not with a clear conciouss sell this jacket to someone.

But if someone wants it I can send it to you free of charge. But you'll just cover shippinng. Maybe it can make somebody happy

Sorry for your loss. Seller prob knows that he’d have a hard time selling the short-sleeve jacket without ****ming. Just so you know, sleeve extension is a thing, if the jacket otherwise fits.

Something like this:

Thanks I appreciate the suggestion and your condolences! I'd still rather give it away. Dealing with Grailed, Wise and researching consumer rights, measurements, tailoring options has probably costed me in productivity more that the jacket is worth. I'd just rather not think about it anymore.

You can also convert the jacket into a leather Perfecto vest, which is pretty cool. But I totally get the sour taste every time seeing that jacket.

I think you need to escalate with Grailed, maybe tagging their social media, considering you have an explicit screenshot of the seller giving you a sleeve length off by 2.5 inches.

Sorry to hear how it went. Hope you still try to escalate with Grailed.

Unless it's a trusted seller - I always insist on pics of measurements and if I don't get it, I'm out. Otherwise, you're rolling the dice.

Also here is an image of the distance between the underarm stitch and the side stitch of the body. 2.5-3 inches. Hard to get accross from the computer, but the arms on this jacket are noticibly more pitched than a normal jacket.

Maybe the arms werent pitched but the back panel instead was narrowed creating this issue? Becuase I can;t see a reason why someone would pitch the arms more.

Hey I also bought a Schott 613s size 40 brand new on vinted (it was not at all broken in) and it has now after breaking in a sleeve length of 23 inches. The seller told me it was bought at the Schott store in Paris without alterations.

Schott jackets that get sold in some european stores have shorter sleeves because it is probably more in trend with how we wear those jackets over here, so if the seller told you there was no alterations being done he's probably speaking the truth.

My jacket also has the same sleeve zipper length as my unaltered Schott 613sh 42. I think your version also has slightly smaller measurements overall because it's the newer version of their sizing (42 being a 40 now for example).

That being said he still gave you wrong measurements which makes your dispute reasonable.

Schott produced a line of jackets exclusively for Europe with stupidly short sleeves. There's a model number everyone should avoid at all costs - I THINK it's #617? - as it's like 22" sleeves and back or something stupid like that. While these jackets are not hard to spot as they look really stupid no matter how you photograph, another telltale sign is a "Schott" logo embroidery right above the coin pocket.

There's a fifty fifty chance that if you're buying an older Perfecto from France, it's going to have shortened sleeves. I never learned why, though. I'm not aware of one single movie where anyone is sporting that look except for maybe Emmanuelle Seigner in Frantic. . .

Yes I remember that Schott 617. It also had really thin leather if I remember correctly.

To be honest I really like if someone can pull off short sleeves on a leather jacket, gives it this sort of I don't give a f*ck attitude, but the negative space has to be filled with jewelry or a nice watch and the jacket has to be slim fitted. Think about Jeff Goldblum in his Saint Laurent leather jacket.
