The only potential problem in this project is you might shift your center of gravity too high up, so you need serious heavy jeans thinking 32+oz , and real real solid boots to work as counter balance

Why not realy man up and have it lined with a cream color heavy weight goat skin with a layer of insulation under the goat skin. Dill in the sleeves for easy on and off

I have no idea how they define it is 4.75 oz. I don't think Horween has 8oz overdye now plus why I spend extra money?
Probably I should have a leather gauge ready.

Hmmm. Not sure about black OD but they go up to 10 in other CXL’s.

But you know if it is true 4.75 oz it will not be that light, that's the point.

Yeah that’s why I tried to warn you way back in the beginning to go heavier. That JL you have that was mine was advertised as 4.25oz and I felt it was closer to 3.5. Solely based on the weight. I had two other overdye’s and they both felt a bit heavier but not much.

You have swatches of the leathers they will use. Weight does not matter, thickness does and do you seriously think you need hides thicker than that? Dude. Who cares whether it is 8,9 or 10 pounds heavy of a jacket if the hide is as thick as it is. It's going to be barely wearable due to restrictions in how little this thick hide will break in and conform to your body at all, like do you want it even thicker so you can't bend the arms in it at any time ever or what's the plan?

Both jackets would have been stellar.
