Oddly enough it’s the only green rough they had and just the color I was looking for a moss like

Awesome jacket! Congrats. Great fit.

The rigid horsehide will ease up with wear. I find that a good cold water spray and drying on the body at body temperature (99F) is the fastest way to break in these horsehide. The water will soften the fiber and the body temperature will mold it into shape with just one wear, until dry.
Thanks Canuck, I'll try the water spray.

hello, can someone give me the procedure to order a jacket from Jhonson leather. I can't find anything on their site that I think is under construction.

Yeah their website has been under permanent construction. Just call 415-775-7393 and talk to Allan or Damian. They are very helpful and easy to work with

Unfortunately I am French and I don't speak English well enough. I would need an email address. I managed to get by with my order for a Lost World thanks to Google transalte

Little update after 15 months of regular wear.
Not teacoring as fast as I expected, which is a good thing.

I‘m considering a JL (Buco J24 style) build in their Phantom horsehide. I’ve only seen a few pictures of this leather and it looks great but I’d like to see more and was wondering if anyone here has had a jacket made from this leather? …and if so would be willing to share some photos?

Yes, I remember seeing that one. It’s a beautiful jacket and those two colors complement each other. What’s your impression of the Phantom HH?
I love it it was probably my first jacket from Jl when I spoke to Allen we talked about hh with sheen that wasn’t cxl something different so he sent me a swatch of it and we had the jacket made it smells great and breaks in beautifully I can definitely recommend it since then I’ve gone on to have a good amount of jackets made by them

Nice! That’s similar to the conversation I had with Damon. It started with CXL, but some of the inspiration images I showed him (especially with regard to sheen) lead us to the Phantom. I’m really impressed with their muslin fit jacket process. Couple the muslin fit jacket with the results I’m seeing in this thread (and elsewhere on the Lounge) and ordering from JL seems like a no brainer. The only hold up for me is making sure I get the right leather. I have a sample on the way, but sometimes it’s hard to tell from a little piece of material.

Do you still have that jacket? I’d love to see how the Phantom has broken in and aged.

Cheers, Jon

That is breaking in beautifully! And they nailed the fit. Would you say the leather has graining like in this photo? It’s hard for me to see the texture of your jacket on my phone. I’ll look again on my computer when I get to my office.

I can take a look in my opinion it’s smoother then that keep in mind I’ve only worn it about. 10 times or so I’m doing my best to try to put all my jackets in rotation
