I always thought that Josh Holloway or Viggo Mortensen would make a good Jonah Hex. I have many of the comics from the 1970s and I'll have to dive into them again.

It be kinda cool if they made the post-apocolyptic version:

Gotta Disagree...

I loved the original, western incarnation of Jonah Hex much better. IMO, the greatest western comic character of all time should stay in the old west. Funny, but back in the late 1970s, many Jonah Hex fans mouths watered at the prospect of Clint Eastwood playing Hex, but he had already done Josey wales, so it was unlikely that Clint would have played Hex.

Oh, the Western comic was better, but with Thomas Jane in the lead role (supposedly), the movie can't possibly be good. At least future Hex could be cheesey and that would be ok!

Hey flat-top, have you checked out this Jonah Hex site? I love it, especially the often-humorous take on the comics. It's clearly a labor of love for the blogger, who wasn't even born when DC Comics published Jonah Hex.

It seems Thomas Jane pulled a Sean Young and had some Hex make-up done as a ploy to get the role!

and we all know how well that worked for her!
but I am very excited about the prospect of a Hex movie. I agree that Viggo would be a good fit, but wonder if it's the kind of film he would do. Most actors (exception being Halle Berry) stop taking graphic novel roles after the Oscar comes knocking.
