If I lived in Southern California and loved the jacket, the
obvious solution for me would be to buy a convertible. Maybe
a red one. Post your wife's email address if you want all of us to
send letters of support.

It's a really nice jacket. I wonder how much difference
the thickness of the leather really makes. Any chance you
could just get a cooler lining? If it has alpaca and storm cuffs,
you might switch to cotton drill? If someone could do it locally,
you could save on shipping to Scotland.

Or you could just keep it for Denver winters.

Above 70 F is definitely no longer jacket friendly..

Above 70 F is definitely no longer jacket friendly.. except during high winds and /or travelling in a convertible IMO

I think I'm gonna sell it

after a lot of thought and discussion with my wife, I think I'm going to sell it and go with something lighter in weight. I'm going to look at a Schott vintage 585 and if I don't like that I'll bite the bullet and order a new Aero in medium weight HH.

Look for it in the classified section here. If I don't sell it within a few weeks it'll go on ebay.

thanks,
Aaron

So sorry that you are giving up on your Cherry Highwayman Aaron. It looked good on you.

If you lived in the UK, and the price was better, without the hassle of import duty and VAT and postage, then I'd snap it off you.

Arrive today. Fits perfectly. This one is staying put for a long time (until one of my kids lifts it, no doubt). Thanks to whoever broke it in a bit before Aaron. Will toss the sport coat in the back seat and wear it home.
Thanks Aaron!

You are very welcome and as my father-in-law always says,
"Wear it in good health."

I'm all teary eyed now. I'm sure shopping for another jacket will help ease the pain. :)
