I have been searching for Leather motorcycle pants to go with my Leather jackets for riding Motorcycle. I’m more into the “Vintage Look“ and want to share my latest find. I’ve found that leather pants are harder to find and fit than jackets. My criteria was more for the ”Vintage motorcycle club meet” look From the 30’s to 60’s. I had to buy local to be able to fit test. New tailor fitted companies like Langlitz was out of my price range and had trepidations on the final outcome. I found this 1960’s “Taubers of California” at a local Seattle vintage clothing store in mid-weight steer. I’d say it’s a 95% good fit. I though I’d share along with one of many black leather jackets and 1950’s horsehide engineer boots. I’m putting this out in a Thread to jumpstart ongoing discussion.

For my first ever pair of leather pants, I picked up this pair of 1950s Harley Davidson pants which appear basically unworn. They fit basically perfectly, and anything after this will likely be downhill (mainly in terms of fit, as higher quality is definitely out there)

Vanson makes the Highway 101 Jean, a high waisted leather pant in the Jeans style. You can find them on EBay pretty often. Hein Gericke is also good to search through.

I've bought a few pairs of leather pants recently. Both were a good deal. No good reason - I don't ride. Was just curious about how a proper pair of leather pants would feel and look on me. Now I can do some serious Y.M.C.A. style dress up with my black engineer boots, black leather pants and black leather jacket. Only missing a black leather cap.
Sorry for the naked feet..

Vanson size 29 and Lost Worlds size 30.
Main differences:
- LW higher rise than V, longer zipper as well.
- LW much wider at the hips than V (V was super tight but I stretched them out a bit so now it's better) - more comfortable.
- V much tighter (borderline unusable) front pockets because of tighter hips, LW very usable and nice.
- LW 21cm/20cm knee/hem vs Vanson 22cm/18cm knee/hem. So LW more straight down wider hem, V wider knee more taper to hem.
- LW wider and more decorated back pockets than V, a bit lower as well.
- LW back yoke vs no yoke on Vanson.
- LW fancy inseam stitch vs Vanson plain.
- LW shorter belt loops vs Vanson longer.
- LW more broken in, softer and more pliable leather. Obviously have been used more/longer.
- LW more grainy overall with some really nice striation type grain here and there.
- LW much nicer lining finishing, super clean vs Vanson very rough (maybe even damaged, not sure how it should actually look like).
- LW much thicker lining, much warmer than V.
- LW brass rivets on the pockets vs L no rivets.
- LW snap button vs Vanson normal button.
- V slightly longer inseam than LW.

I like the look of the Vanson better. Do they stay up at hips or drop as you wear them? They must be tough to get into! Leg zips help.

Yeah they stay up at the hips as I wear them, which is nice. It's a bit difficult to get into them, but not awful, just need to push underwear down after I slip in. By far the main downfall of these are the inaccessible front pockets (similar to a lot of my denim) related to the tight hips. That's where the LW pair wins out clearly but they also tend to slip down from the hips more. Whichever I end up keeping I'd like to narrow down the knees a bit, now they are too baggy.
