yea....but the name of the 'seller' game..is to get as many people to end up pulling their item into the search...so the more terms the better.

Accuracy in terminology has never been a pre-requisite for trying to sell on ebay, its not about getting the 'people who would love this item the most and it be perfect for them' to read the item ...its about getting as many different people to read it....and thus have more then one sucker bid on it.....

ebay does not and should not cater to accuracy in selling....

I for one am glad there are no standards for Ebay. I have a couple of Stetson Open Road, Cowboy, frisbee, water bucket, chick magnet, retro, gangster, doorstop, vintage, hardhat, detective, hats to sell. :)

Yep that would most definitely refer to The Mighty Boosh. It reminds me of the mod suit Vince wore in the episode with the Mod wolves...It's a very surreal comedy by the BBC. YouTube has a vast selection of clips. It's one of my favourite programmes.

Suits like that are becoming popular, thanks to younger icons like Noel Fielding (who plays Vince) and Brandon Flowers for The Killers opting for vintage style. Yet more hope for the young 'uns I say. Especially if the cryptic descriptions exclude the over 30s...

The new key word to be abused in vintage is "pea coat." Sounds like it should be straightforward but search for a peacoat in vintage and you'll be amazed at what you find.

Here's a winner for a 1970s dress: Vintage 1970s New Look Sienna Hippie Boho Maxi Mini Dress

It's called key word spamming. The vintage clothing section actually has a list of approved words we are allowed to use to describe our items. Unfortunately Ebay forgets what those words are rather selectively and pulls auctions for words on the approved list like "Lucy" as in a 1950s full skirted day or evening dress. Twiggy will also get you pulled and recently someone had an auction pulled because they used the word "Dolly." That was on a babydoll style dress. We still have not figured out that one.
