Zippered Sleeve Question

I’m about to pull the trigger on a new Board Racer. I’ve owned several in the past, all with zippers on the front (top-side, aligned with middle/index finger) of the sleeve. In this location they figured prominently as a design feature, and they were unlikely to come into contact with other surfaces.

I want to locate the new jacket’s zippers for a more hidden look. But I’m concerned that if located on the sleeve’s bottom or inside they might be damaging to other surfaces with which they come into contact.

If on the bottom… car consoles, chair arms, etc. If on the inside, possibly damaging to the side of the jacket itself.

Thoughts, comments, suggestions appreciated!

Thanks in advance…

I'm sure you could ask them to add some piping/welting to the sleeve zippers as their cafe racer does

Board Racers top of sleeve zippers have ‘exposed’ zipper tape and teeth.

This is contrary to every zipper I’ve had on the underside of the sleeve has been ‘lapped’, where there is a flap of leather on either side extending over the zipper tape and effectively hiding the teeth.

I love them both, and agree, the exposed top of sleeve zips are a design element
