Looking for a pair of engineer boots like these

These are supposedly James Dean's boots from Rebel. Regardless of their authenticity, they have several traits that I'm interested in, in a pair of boots.

They have sort of a western toe, a tall stacked heel, and are a nice dark brown. Where in the world would a guy find a pair of boots like these?

Mirroring what others said, any brand could give you that look once worn in enough.

John Lofgren, Role Club, Wesco Boss, Unsung could give that look (alot of modern Engineers seem to focus on a more sleek look, but there are still some that aren't)

Not sure if you found what you're looking for but i would go with Role Club; request a full Woodsman heel (higher heel look like the photo), 2307 last and a Soft Toe; the pair from the photo looks like the lower adjustment buckles are cut off so you can ask for it to be build like that or else that area might be too loose without buck adjustment, i think they will have to take it in a little without the buckle similar to cowboy boots. I think you mentioned you like this color but i personally think it's teacore/aged, it looks like a black boot that has been worn so much it showing its teacore.

good example of black teacore with wears, i personally like the 2307 last cause its more sleek toe box then his 1940 last but to each their own :)

Thank you for the link, i think experience can very so much when we go with small shops. I personally had good experience with Brian and i measured myself using my own at home Brannocks device. I guess I got him at a different time in his career? i messaged him April 21, 2025, we got the size and payment locked in on May 6, 2025... he said it would be done by late Nov 2025 but i got the boot 2 days after September 19, 2025. Price was high but fair in my eyes coming from Visvim boots that left alot of fitting to be desired.

Maybe it's just me. Unless I was in the area, or was able to travel to the shoemaker for fittings and adjustments........ I don't think that I will ever order a pair of expensive shoes or boots. You can't see them ....... You can't try them on....... and they are supposed to be made to measure; but who is doing the measurements? This is why I have never ordered a pair of Pacific Northwest. You download a printout. The final print from your computer & printer may not be accurate to scale. Then you trace your foot with a pencil. I want to be able to try the boots on, and only buy them if they fit correctly.

It's true they can and often do make their boots made to measure; however -
You can also order any size & width you want, from White's, Nick's or J&K Boots.
And if ordered through Baker's shoes in Eugene, OR (White's) they have a very generous return policy.
Nick's even lets you select the Last on certain models.
Does it take effort & research? Yes, that's also part of the appeal
My broken in PNW boots feel more comfortable than moccasins on the feet. (A bit heavy moccasins) :)

I've done it a number of times and never had an issue.

My solution would be to get a beaten up pair from ebay or thift store. Make sure they don't have a reinforced toecap. Cut off the strap. They'll probably have a rubber sole and heel. Get a cobbler to add a layer of leather to the sole and two or three layers to the heel. An $800 look for $100, and unique. My cobbler in London would be happy to do this. He'd make it look amazing. He's one of the best there is.

Edit: he'd replace the existing rubber layers.
