Here's our American Bulldog, Bertram. We adopted him in June as a rescue so he has no papers, but his appearance, behaviour, mannerisms, and personality, are 100% American Bulldog. He came with the name "Spot", which we thought was a stupid name for a bulldog. I think bulldogs need serious names and Bertram fits the bill, but he's a total goof-ball, so when he's being silly we just call him Bertie. Shades of P.G. Wodehouse....

Anyway, he's a great dog, and gets along very well with our two Siamese cats. He is also very protective of my wife, and when she's out walking him alone at night I don't feel like I have to worry at all about her!

It's been a great year for dog trials. Both Ruby and Willa progressed in their AKC ranking. They compete about 3 weekends a month - usually for 2 days. My daughter does the heavy lifting and has started to train other dogs. All great fun!
