Love in the Time of Cholera

I just saw an advanced screening of Love in the Time of Cholera tonight. Despite being a fan of the book (or perhaps because I liked the book) I found the movie entirely disappointing. I am curious to hear what other loungers think of it - especially those that have also read the book.

I haven't seen it, however I have read from others who loved
the book didn't enjoy the film. I do want to see it, however I
also want to read the book. Wondering if I should see it first
and then read it. Might be best.
