Marines Year Book search

This is not regarding WWII so if it needs to be moved, then I understand. I've lately been thinking of searching for my fathers yearbook from the Marines. I don't know much of my father and he's now past away, but I'm curious to get my hands on his yearbook. He was a G.I. the year I was born Jan of 1970, and apparently didn't get shipped to Vietnam 'cause I was being born. He probably went through bootcamp in Florida or somewhere in the S.E. US, maybe Biloxi MS? Where should I start my search?

Are you sure he was in the Marine Corps?

If he was in the Marine Corps he would have gone through Recruit training at either Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina or Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California. The army has boot camps through out the US.

The Marine Corps has never had a training base in Mississippi or Florida to the best of my knowledge. Carebear may know of one I have never heard of, he is also a Marine.

Where was his home town? This will help determine where he would have most likely gone to boot camp.

The National Archives can help you research your fathers service records.

Good luck.

He was definately a Marine, I was just guessing on where he might have trained. We were living in Northern Florida, a town called Marianna. Thanks for the link, I will use it to investigate further.

If he was from Florida he should have gone to recruit training at Parris Island, South Carolina.

Do you happen to know what he did job wise while he was in the Marines?
