McGregor Coat Date Help

Just trying to date this coat, the label isn't on the VFG site. The lining is leather. I can't figure out how to post pictures

Thank you, think I have it. The coat is wool? the inside is leather lined.

The label helps, but you need to show pictures of the entire jacket, front and back.

I have no idea. Probably 40's-50's, but could be later. I'm not a ladies' coat expert. Maybe another Lounger can help you.

That's a men's coat.

This particular design of McGregor Sportwear label was used in the 1940s and 1950s.

Thank you so much, that's what I was leaning towards. One more question please. The leather has a different feel to it, would they have used another animal besides a cow during those era's? "another" not sure why it's breaking up LOL

The jacket is from the late 1930s, style and particular McGregor label provide all the proof you need.

Problem with labels is that they make thousands of them and they get used for 20-30 years.

The jacket design dates from the early 1940s and there are similar jackets in clothing catalogues of the period.

That white label down at the bottom of the liner might give more info than the company label, which is an astonishingly poor way to date a civilian garment.

Any chance of some close-ups of that label?

Thank you all. The white label at the hem, is actually a dry cleaning tag.
