For sale is my vintage high end Montecristi wide brim panama in good condition.
I believe everything is original.
No size label but I believe is size 7 1/8.
Hat opening: length 7 10/16 inches, width 6 10/16 inches
Brim: front 3 1/4, back 3, side 3 1/4
Crown as bashed: front 4, middle 5 1/8, back 4 1/2
Ribbon width: 1 1/2
Sweat band width: 1 1/2
W.P.S.I.: approximately 800
Light weight hat
Even weave
Condition is good for being vintage and original. The sweat band has some wear marks and the leather at the back of the hat has some small tears (see closeup pic). No stains, cracks, separation in straw. No stains on lining.
Remarks:
This is the best highend wide brim Montecristi I have found in ten years of collecting.
Personally I prefer to keep vintage items as original as possible, so I would wear it as is, until the time comes to replace the leather sweat band and then I would have the Montecristi cleaned and reblocked by a master hatter.
No hat box.
