More Noir

LACMA (L. A. County Museum of Art -- near the Tar Pits) will be showing some noir over the next couple of weeks, highlighting the work of cinematographer Burnett Guffey. I'm going to try and catch at least a couple of these:

[Doh!]

Got to see Lonely Place last night -- TERRIFIC! It has snappy dialogue, terrific acting and a pretty good story. It was interesting to see Bogart as a hothead, and not just a tough guy. When he took his anger out on Gloria Grahame, it was truly scary to watch.

The Sniper was OK. I'm wondering if it was an intentional influence on the first Dirty Harry movie...?
