Anyone remember this one? . . .

Fade To Black (1980)

Starring Dennis Christopher as a psychotic young man obsessed with golden era films, who begins to kill his perceived oppressors while while dressed as his favorite movie characters.

Also features Linda Kerridge as a very convincing Marilyn Monroe look-alike and his object of desire.

Still one of my favorite films from the time.

I love that one, Matt Crunk.
The Player
My all-time-favorite, a play-within-a-play-within-a-play: The Boy Friend.

Yes, Miss Kerridge was fabulous.

Yes, she also happened to be Austrailian if I remember correctly.

I notice that's where you list yourself as hailing from, Goldwyn Girl. Maybe you can shed some light on whatever happened to her?

All I can say is Linda leads a very private life these days.

Two movies I thought of
On an Island with you - Esther williams
Strangers Kiss - Linda Kerridge

In a roundabout way, Footlight Parade (1933) has to do with movies. And there's a Russian film called The Cigarette Girl From Mosselprom (1924) that is about the movies. Delightful film!

Did anyone say Sherlock, Jr. (1924)??

And I don't remember much about it, but didn't The Goldwyn Follies (1938) have something to do with movies?

Geez, I could kick myself for not mentioning Sherlock, Jr. on my earlier list - it's my favorite Keaton film! I'm sitting under a framed 8x10 still from it that I've had for almost 30 years!
