Teddy Stauffer and the Original Teddies - Home Town -

Ernst Heinrich "Teddy" Stauffer (May 2, 1909 – August 27, 1991) was a Swiss bandleader, musician, actor, nightclub owner, and restaurateur. He was dubbed Germany's "swing-king" of the 1930s.

After the war Teddy Stauffer settled in Mexico where he opened a restaurant in Acapulco. In fact he was instrumental in putting Acapulco on the map as a holiday destination. Hometown was originally made famous by Flanagan & Allen.

While he isn't exactly swing, I highly recommend this Lawrence Welk CD. It has some pretty good songs on it in my opinion, and it has two polkas on it too. Unfortunately, it is on the short side, and only has 16 songs. But they are all good songs.

I would also recommend Glenn Miller, but most of his stuff is from the 40's.
