Hello

I sold off some Vintage Jackets and bought me a Beautiful Schott 689H Horsehide Jacket. Previous owner said only wore it 4 times. He bought it back in 2019. I think it's from 2012? I did not want or though it needed any Conditioner but very lightly with a rag wiped it down with some BICKMORE Bick 4. I will send some pictures over later of me wearing it. It is my first Horsehide Jacket. I never even seen one before. It is heavy Jacket and the leather feels thick.
Peter

I like this style a lot. I'm "boring" and still think the straight zip with collar style is the coolest, whether that's HWM, Mulholland, or Schott 689.

Your jacket looks unworn and super nice. Congrats!

Hi
Thank You. I agree. I don't ride a motorcycle so this style fits me. I would like to find a Schott Cafe Racer in Horsehide.
Did you notice on the left front shoulder area the leather is more wrinkled? Wonder if it was like that when New?
Thanks
Pete

It's hard to tell from the picture. I'm guessing the leather there wrinkles more easily, so the little wear it's seen and how it was stored might have made it pop there. It will probably always have more wrinkles/grain in that spot, but the rest of the jacket will catch up somewhat is my guess.

Hi. Had the same jacket. I wore it out in the rain and got soaked. I thought I had wiped it down thoroughly but missed a section under the arm pit. The whole jacket was smooth before but now in that spot only it’s very wrinkled. I assume it from not wiping it completely dry. Go figure. It still has a very cool look to it and didn’t stop the other guy from buying it. So to each his own preference.

No this isn't what happened. That grain would have broken either way, regardless of your wiping.

It's not supposed to stay 'smooth' permanently. That just means it wasn't broken in yet.
