I’m posting this 1940s Kurland Motorcycle jacket for a heavy discount (nearly free when you account for shipping). The leather is okay, the plaid wool lining is good, but has stitching issues that will need to be addressed. It will not fit me, so I have no use for it. I imagine it could be worthwhile to someone who has easy access to repairs.
The good:
Leather is okay, not great. No significant issues in this front. Collar, back of sleeve has some wear and thinness. No holes or anything (other than the split seams)
Zips all work. Main is a replacement, sleeves look original. Throat latch with button present. Very cool plaid wool lining in overall good shape with slight damage near opening.
The bad:
Split seams as pictured, some thinness of leather. I’ve not put any Urad on it but I imagine it can clean up some of that thinness pretty well. No significant cracking. Belt removed, at least one of the pockets is torn (I’m not in front of the jacket at the time of writing this, there could be more pockets that are also torn).
Kurland was a premier east coast maker. The early Sportclad MC jackets were actually made by Kurland. It’s actually quite a rare jacket. Unfortunately it will need repairs to be worn without any fear. Here’s an opportunity to someone to take on a project for quite a rare jacket at not much money.
