Need help identifying old movie

I think the film was made in 1942. All I remember was the end where these soldiers rent cars and eventually get into a fight where they throw car parts at each other (headlights, fenders, etc.)

all i can think of is 1,2,3 but i don't think they end up throwing car parts

I don't remember how many soldiers there were in the movie. I mostly remember a scene where one car bumps into another and then later in a parking lot there is a fight where everyone rips the parts off their cars and throw them at each other while the rental guy adds up the total cost in damages.
