What's the string for on some fedoras that I see under the ribbon? My Stetson Open Road has one. It has a button on the end.

You can extend the string and attach the button to your jacket or shirt. If the wind blows the hat off your head the string will save it.

Just "unravel" it from around the hat and pass the trolley button through the button hole of your lapel or shirt. [huh]
