Not sure if there has been a post on this before, but Eddie Mueller, the writer of the book Dark City: the Lost World of Film Noir, a delightfully anti-film theory work, puts out a pdf-only magazine called The Noir City Sentinel. It was free to all, but the subscription had to be limited a year or so ago to contributors. These are the people who put on the San Francisco Film Noir festivals. The new, great, issue has articles on The Prowler (1951), Fritz Lang, Farley Granger, modern noir (in this case Smokin' Aces), Cornell Woolrich, Gloria Grahame, Marsha Hunt, Leave Her to Heaven (1945), Percy Helton from Kiss Me Deadly, Criss Cross, and The Set-Up, a very interesting piece on film noir groups on flickr.com, and more. To get ahold of this, I think you can go to noircity.com or filmnoirfoundation.org.
