Hückel Sigma Seal Velour

Just got my 30s Hückel Seal Velour (~ 6 inch open crown, 2 1/2 inch brim) back from Optimo. They did a total restore (sweat, ribbon/bow, liner). It was a size 6 Punti but measured in at 58cm so up sized to 59cm. They matched the original bow and did a great job in with the blocking. I am pleased with the results.

I have several hats I've been sending in. I never seem to take pics of before but I'll try to catch the future hats as before shots. Like I said, they come back looking like work of a custom hatter in the 30s. Speaking of that i have to show some of my custom mades from the 30s

How are they custom made if from the 30's? [huh]

Ah, I see. So what are some of the differences you notice in custom hats from that time vs the regular hats of that time and then the custom hats of that time compared to the custom hats of modern day?

Just some tiny details usually bow and sweat odities and stitching. I'm sure it's hatter personal style differences. But it is always fun to find custom works from the past. Info for anothe thread.

Just an update. I got my Stetson St Regis homburg from Optimo earlier this week. It went for a cleaning and a new edge ribbon. It came with a gray edge, but I asked them to replace it with black to match the main ribbon. It came back in perfect condition and I love it. Pictures to follow. I'll certainly not hesitate to use Optimo again.
