I really like the curled brim - I didn't see that it was a homburg on my first scroll through the photos.

Did you consider their 'Diplomat'? I would have thought the homburg would have a shorter brim, but yours looks like it has plenty of coverage and shade.

Nice hat!

Homburg. Midnight

What an amazing hat! Did you tweak anything from the original design (brim width, etc.)? Also, to create the pinch when worn with the brim down, do you need to use steam? Thanks in advance!

The Nashville is supposed to be made of their Double Weight felt, but I asked for it in Thoroughbred Melusine. Everything else is the same.
Steam is never necessary on an Optimo!

This old parabuntal body was purchased rolled in its original bamboo tube - perhaps woven pre WWII. Graham Thompson blocked and finished it for me in a traditional plantation style with center crease and rolled brim. It could use a little touch-up for wrinkles earned over the years (I would benefit from the same treatment) but it is a favorite summer wearer - resilient and light as a feather.

WOW! That melusine really shines! I’m still not a fan of Optimo’s tapered blocking, but they do so much right! When do we get to see the Optimo family all together?
I get updates from Guy Morse-Brown the hat block maker in the UK. He showed a room full of new blocks destined for Optimo. I had to shut the computer down as I was salivating too much.

Thank you, Sir! I am new here, but I've been going over the thread and see that you have a really outstanding Optimo collection. Many congratulations! If I might pick your brain once again - I am deciding between the Manhattan and the Park Avenue, and see that you have both models. How would you describe the differences between them? Do you have a favorite? Thanks in advance!
