Cassettes were around since the 60s. CDs were introduced by Philips around 82/83.

And I remember first reading about HDTV around 78/79. The article, in TV Guide, said it was about 20 years away.

Maybe the material on it, but not the disc. The technology wasn't ready until 1982 and late '82 at that.Jovan said:
