I love these old straws...

Ok here's the one I just snagged for $16. From and estate sale, purchased in the 1940s, made in Ecudor. I'll wear it brim down in from, up in back. That's the way it has been "worn in" I can tell. Yesterday a similar vintage one went for $13!

Great find on your New vintage hat...

When you recieve it take it in the bath room and turn the shower on hot and let it steam for 15 min's or so. I do this monthly on all my straws so they won"t crack...

Wish I'd known about this method! I inherited a '50s Dobbs panama from my great-grandmother's 2nd husband. After arriving in L.A. from Belgium -- yes, Belgium -- it soon cracked. (The hat, not the husband.)

Good to know that there's a way to prevent this.
