History student allegedly brandishes WWII rifle...in WII uniform...and is killed by police.

The young man's MySpace page says he majored in Scandinavian studies and minored in German culture and literature at the UW. He belonged to German World War II re-enactment group, said his lucky charm was "Mister Bayonet" and that his goal to achieve this year was "don't die."
His photo on the social networking site is something out of the 19th century: a black and white of him in a high collar and handlebar moustache. He also said he entered "the 21st century when absolutely necessary."

I don't even remember what it was that made that thread go bad, but hopefully we can avoid it. Let's not discuss police practices. i read a local Seattle paper article, and apparently, he was a very nice guy, quirky, friendly, and well liked. Friends: "His style was unique and well respected by anyone who knew him." "Really a fun peaceful spirit who I never thought of as a threatening person." "It was a true fascination for him, representing a time when people were more proper. He definitely lived life like that."

Sounds like he would have fit right in around here. RIP
