Some sad news to report for fans of cinema; veteran Japanese actor Tetsuro Tamba has died aged 84. Featured in more than 200 movies,Tamba was a nearly constant presence in Japanese cinema for over half a century. Some of his films include; Seppuku (1962),Kaidan (1964) both directed by Masaki Kobayashi, You Only Live Twice (1967) directed by Lewis Gilbert, Kurotokage (Black Lizard) (1968) directed by Kinji Fukasaku.

Sven Nykvist(Sweden) also aged 84. Famous as the cinematographer for Ingmar Bergman. A few of his more famous works; The Virgin Spring (1960),Pesona (1966),Cries and Whispers (1972), Fanny and Alexander (1982). For Woody Allen he photographed Crimes and Misdemeanors (1989).
