I have just updated the playlist on my internet radio station, Radio Moscow. It plays Soviet popular music, jazz, and patriotic tunes from the 1930s through the 1940s. Simply visit the link in my signature to give it a listen.

Music of the Great Patriotic War

A very interesting link-to be honest I'd never given much thought to Socialist music from the Stalinist era but it's actually not too bad. I'm sorry to say that my Russian is more than a little rusty , so I am having a bit of trouble following the lyrics, but the Jazz is enjoyable. Thanks for posting the link :eusa_clap

It is playing, but there was a repellent commercial about acne first with disgusting descriptions. This is great music! I love the marching cadences. I have a couple of records that might be up your alley. Neither are vintage, though, so although stylistically interesting would not be appropriate for your show. One is called Omsk Russian Folk Chorus and one is The Soviet Army Chorus Today. The first consists of folk songs, including a beautiful one by an all female chorus, with lyrics about gathering flax in the fields. The other has more patriotic songs. I suppose you have a lot of records on the Melodiya label?
