It would have been more accurate for LiveLeak to describe them as "Colorized Rare Historic Photos"; most of them, anyway. Regardless, the various photographers captured some truly interesting moments beautifully.

Indeed, colorized is not the same at all. At the same time, however, I noted how much the process really helped me connect with these photographs. Many of the older ones I had seen before in black and white; they had all seemed so distant, almost fictional. With color, they seemed to be much more modern, more real. And they seemed like folks who might be in different clothing, but one wouldn't be surprised to meet up with them on the street today.
