It sounds sentimental, but the hat in question is one of my favourites. It's a modern (but good quality) beige safarir brim German tracht/fedora by Wegener Headwear.

I was told by the shop assisstant when I bought it that it would be suitable for rain, as that's what I specifically asked for. It has held up quite well, but it has shrunk slightly (or my head has grown). It started off with a bit of taper and is now so tapered what it the bash has almost completely gone.

Can the hat be reblocked and made to get back to its original size, or should I just get a new maybe custom hat?

Thanks
Alan

Aside from the sentimental value, what's the hat worth?
Blocking should bring it back to size and shouldn't run you more than $30. Even if you need the sweat replaced, that will only add another $20 or so - far short of the more than 300 you'd need for a new custom hat.

The hat's worth 70euros, so maybe $90. Not particularly expensive. It might need more stretching if the sweat band is replaced, as its current sweat band is very thin, though quite comfortable.
