Dear all,

I came across this new Perfecto. It looks like this could be an insteresting jacket with a potential great Teacore ability.

What do you think?
1.250 USD sounds fair

I asked about this one in another thread "Help me take my best Schott." Honestly if it's a fast-vintaging leather then I am simply not interested. I like black jackets to be black, with a very gradual over-time wearing into vintage status with grey, red or brown overtones. My last remaining Horween FQHH is that "quick vintage" type leather. While many do love it, for their own personal reasons, it's not for me.

Just about ~ 5 years ago, I "passed" on a Schott 613SH in Chicago brand new for $650 out the door. Sometimes seeing their pricing now, I almost wish I would have bought it then.

I totally get you.

This jacket is for nerds like us, having more jackets that we can really wear. So no jacket really get enough wearing time to break in and creating patina.
This now the result - wearing time about 1 month with the same result as if you wear an Aero over years

I absolutely get you. Many years ago I went through to aero to pick up my highwayman and a customised long halfbelt. Was trying them on for size and the highwayman brushed against a chair and it left a pretty noticeable scratch. I nearly fainted, I said to Will, wow what's happening here, he laughed and said you will get used to it and stop worrying, it will all blend in shortly.i never stopped worrying and the two jackets moved on very quickly.Hate the stuff.

It's much simpler than it sounds.

This jacket is the PER70, which many of us complained only came in a pre-distressed version, only now you can get it with or without the distressing.

It's not fast-ageing; it simply comes as either a standard or a pre-distressed model.

If it didn't have the buckle snap, I'd get one.

Yes, that´s probably it. It sure is NOT pre-distressed. However, I wasn´t sure if it carries the same "fast-ageing" preoperties as the PER70.

It looks good, although I am not really sold on the back lenght of 26". No wonder, the video-guy has his shirt untucked... It still looks ok, though.

Yeah “I’d get it” is probably going too far; what I mean is closer to “I’d consider it”. I don’t think this leather is as fast aging as those because this has a shiny finish new. Those were pretty matte.

And I think our jacket allowed us to dial in fit a lot more than these special editions; likewise if either of us ends up getting a 618HH, the specific sizing is a major benefit. For instance I found the same size as the 613SH to be too small on it.

This. I want to take to the streets and protest long cross zips

Interesting you should say that on sizing 618HH vs. 613SH. The calculator on the Schott website suggests a 44 either way, but goes up to 46 in the 618HH when I add half an inch to chest measurement (which is easily my fluctuation depending on diet, training etc.).

As I said, I´d like to try on, so it doesn´t matter much now. If I should ever feel the need to pull the trigger, I am sure Jerry will send me the actual measurements.

I just picked up this Oren Schott signed limited edition Perfecto (118 based). Not much on this particular variant on the lounge other than a for sale post in the classified a while back. I’ll do a thread just so it here for reference purposes. Anyway, this thing has the buckle snap and I’m actually starting to kind of like this feature. It keeps the belt particularly crisp when the jacket is on the hanger.

The 118 and all the "fancy" Perfectos have the buckle snap. It's a "feature" that has some real functional benefits; I just happen to hate the look.

I like to do up the belt, but if it's not done up I'd rather it hang then artificially float the way the snap makes it do.

I understand that one does not like the "floating buckle" effect of the Schott buckle snap. But one simply does not have to use it and then can enjoy the classic dangling buckle look ! I have some jackets who have it (626VN, 619, 118), and sometimes i use the snap, sometimes I don't. It's just not enough to prevent me from wearing my glorious 118 !

No, the open snap looks extremely jarring when exposed. I had looked at maybe getting one and turning it around so it becomes a hem snap for the two layers, but it's placed in a position that wouldn't allow that either.
