I missed this thread. Great details on a jacket I have always had an interest in! I believe this thread demonstrates that Appalachian produced jackets for sears under various name; Hercules, Fieldmaster, Oakbrook.

This one looks the "nicest" to me eye. I dont necessarily mean best condition, but just the best aesthetically/design. Wouldnt mind getting my hands on it.

Checked the measurements of the ebay page. Too big, oh well. Still love this design, also thanks @Guppy for all the research youve done on these.

Don't you think that Appalachian made the Sears labeled jackets? They appear to be identical.

I have had identical early 60s sports jackets with Appalachian, Oakbrook and Fieldmaster labels.
I have no idea. No reason to say they didn't, but I can't say anything definitely. Could be it was a pattern made by several companies and someone else supplied Sears. Without records or an authority all I can do is speculate.

You have shown some strong visual evidence that links the Sears and Appalachian jackets. I have no doubt about that link in the sports jackets. The jackets are identical with different labels. With your presentation I am convinced that Appalachian did make these jackets. We know Buco made the Allstate jackets for a limited time. Other Sears jackets are labeled, Made and Styled in California, so we go to the West Coast for makers.

Thanks for your work putting this together. Put some pieces together for me.

Yeah, I have nothing to say you're wrong, but I can't confirm, either. It does seem plausible.

This is a good look at one of these interesting Appalachian Jackets. These leather tag jackets were early 50s and short lived. These leather labels are seen with Appalachian and Hercules names. I assume all made by Appalachian. This style does not show up in the early 50s Sears catalogs. Now, looks like they were made earlier than the catalog indicates.
