Shaping a sisal hat

Folks, a thunderbolt of good fortune struck me. A guy in a junk shop sold a couple of bicycles to a friend, and, as she was trundling them to her car, she eyed a hat atop some other stuff. She picked it up and saw that it was new -- still had the tag attached, in fact. And that tag said "Borsalino."

She asked about the hat, and the proprietor was so tickled with her for buying the bikes that he gave her the hat. Now it is mine.

It is made of sisal, and the pinch is slightly battered, perhaps from sitting under something in a closet.

My query: Can sisal be reshaped by a reputable hat shop? Or would trying to improve this hat only make it worse?

It's a nice lid -- medium (app. 2.5 inches) brim, a few shades lighter than peanut butter, with a leather band. Can't beat the price.

I'll work on it next week, then aim a camera at it.
