Well yes, we all have seller's regrets, but that is the coolest looking sports coat on this whole thread.
Man wearing a striped suit coat with what I think are chino's. Houston 1956. I know some people would never wear this combo, but it was done. http://www.flickr.com/photos/stockh...mmons/6789234367/sizes/o/in/pool-1399674@N20/
The plaid ones are really awesome. they probably should be more appreciated than they generally are. They are quite awesome. I would guess $35 on ebay. I would not pick these up to make a big profit, but I do deal in some stuff just because I think it is cool and want to get it into the hands of anyone cool enough to wear one. The suit coats I would never pick up to resell on the assumption that they would not sell. But don't get me wrong. I certainly dig a nice 60s suit coat. Do you somehow get more than me? If so, would love a tip, although I can understand if you keep your secrets to yourself.
For me, I pick up anything that is pre-60's, as someone will want it! I like to keep anything vintage in the community that is shared here, and elsewhere! Form the goodwill around here (may be everywhere), you can pick up blazers for cheap (under $10)! So if it doesn't sell, it can sit around, as it isn't much of a loss, and maybe down the road, someone may be interested in it!
Does that have surgeon cuffs? I couldn't help myself to ask, although it was so long ago. I've been looking for something with surgeon cuffs for a while. -T.S.
surprisingly none whatsoever not even little nibbles. The lining is delicate though its a form a of early silky rayon pulp It is in superb shape overall
I wanted to show off my new sports coat. This is the culmination of an obsessive search for a tweed sports coat which fulfilled these criteria: was ridiculously cheap had a colour/pattern which didn't resemble a combination of moss and mud (good for the town) was nice and thick I scoured the charity shops and ebay but the jacket eluded me. So my patience finally paid off, and I got this (1970s?) black/grey herringbone Harris Tweed sports coat from ebay. Nothing fancy, sure I would have liked big lapels, pleats, belt back etc, but this fits as if it were tailored for me, has a timeless cut and I now consider this search over. For now. Probably. One grey button and one brown replacement. Debating whether to replace them or leave them on, as part of the 'story' of the jacket.
