you look absolutely amazing!
Everyone looks great! Lots of fun, vibrant hair colors in this thread, too.
Thank you all so much for your kind compliments. Lily, the couple in the pic are my wife and I.
Growing old disgracefully is just a figure of speech. We have had some negative comments now
and then, mainly directed at the way we dress and the fact that we still enjoy going out, dancing,
partying, theatre, restaurant and so on. Some people have nothing better to do than try to live
other's lives for them. In their eyes, when you reach a certain age, all you should look forward to
is television and gardening. They see going out as a young persons activity. Most people, I must say,
are like the folk here, complimentary and admiring, but there's always one.
Here we are at Hep Cats, and wouldn't you know it, she's been stood up. It was the BBC not Channel 4. Hey ho, there will be other times.
Thanks! I haven't done a tutorial in a while, I'll see if I can find the time. It might be a few weeks
Oh, and GHT, I think you guys look just fantastic. If that's growing old disgracefully, that's what I want to do!!
I agree - great photo and I love the red hair!
Terrific 'do's Shebear74, GHT, and Tatum. When I try a new style, I have my stylist do it and show me the tricks o the trade. I admit that I'm bad about reading the directions in the book, which are terrific, I just learn better when I see someone do it first. I've been wanting to try Snood Style 1 from Retro Hairstyles. My hair is now long enough and I bought a couple of snoods recently. Here's the best pic I could get: [/url].
Loving that pic, Tenuki. When my wife gets asked to do a snood hairstyle, at retro events, she uses a neat trick for those ladies whose hair may be too short to bulk out the snood hairnet. A simple, comb attached, hairpiece, fitted under the ladies own hair, creates the extra hair to fill out that snood. It's completely invisible, survives energetic dancing and draws admiring compliments. Check out this book, you will love the cover.
That's gorgeous, Tenuki! Nice job.
My first successful pincurl set ever. I finally managed it with the Sculpture Pincurler.
Antje, those are both beautiful as always. I LOVE the top one!!! How did you come up with that? Stunning!
Thanks I had this idea for the wave from a youtube video of a vintage vanity and I just curled the ends because they are too long to let that hang loose
Thanks GHT & Tatum. I keep mis-titling the name of Miss Rennell's book, I meant, Vintage Hairstyling...It's my go-to book. Ok, it's the only book I own on vintage hair styles. Thanks, too, for the snood-enhancing tip.
Nice do's Anje and Penny Dreadful.
Here's my hair today. Just another basic pin curl set. Still working on the technique & setting pattern but it's already improved a ton from day 1.
Oh what a lovely set- really very pretty indeed
