Recently picked up this nifty suit at a thrift store. Light peach (or apricot?), light-weight wool, early '50s, "Designed by Daroff." Was a 43L, so I had to take the chest in about 11/2"; may have to take the waist in a tiny bit. I asked the clerk if there was a discount on the suit, to which he replied no, but then took off 10% anyway. Wore it on Monday, and got some compliments at (of all places) Bloomingdale's.

I picked up a 3-piece tuxedo this weekend. It appears to be from the late 30s. It has a button fly. I am working on pictures. Any advice regarding care and dry cleaning would be appreciated. It appears the lapel and vest are silk.

I have a Firley Herringbone tweed suit from Cordings. I have two different sets of trousers for it; one pair of straight trousers and also Plus Twos for cycling. Since I'm chief marshal in London's Tweed Run, the other week I was wearing the plus twos:

Today, I'm wearing it at work, so back in the straight trousers (I didn't cycle in today - recovering from an injury):

New suit, would welcome any dating suggestions. There was a receipt in the pocket from 1937, that I am fairly sure was NOT for the suit. The length of the waistcoat, the shape of the lapels, the slanting ****** pocket, the backwards facing shoulder seam, and the fancy fabric make me think late 1920s.
