An estate sale is a dangerous place to be on 1/2 price day ...

A few hats, hat bands, hat stretcher, stampede strings, beaded belt, boot jack and a grinder. The two grey hats on the left were from an on-line auction (so ignore those).

What a haul! I hope some of those hats fit you. A couple of real nice looking ones in the batch.

Thanks Dale. Being a local sale I made sure all of them did fit (except for the little straw, but I had other reasons to get it). Good (or bad) thing the cowboy boots didn't fit. This late owner of a local lumber company had a dozen or more really nice ones (including some now banned exotics).

I hit a thrift store yesterday. I'm a recent COVID survivor and was masked and sanitized so felt OK about the limited human contact. There were very few people in the store and I kept my distance.

Now I'm ready to layer up!

In this pile is a vintage Key denim jacket ($3), a nice pair of Carhartt bib-front overalls ($10), a few vintage neckties ($1 - $3 each), a couple of bandannas (25-cents each), along with shirts from Pendleton, Woolrich, Columbia, Eddie Bauer and Dickies ($3 each).

Two of these Elephant Brand ('50s - '70s) bandannas. They were being used as shelf liners in the glassware department.

Four of these Smokey the Bear bandannas.

Also this Pendleton blanket/throw (62" x 55") for $3.

Also found this awesome needlepoint deer. I love this sort of stuff. Fits in well in our 1969 farm house in the middle of "Booger County" Missouri.

And then this original painting by a renowned local (Springfield, MO) artist. I have several of his prints of local landmarks. It's going to drive me nuts trying to find out where this house is. The artist (Paul Dorrough -- who grew up down the street from me) passed away in a house fire in 2013.

Some of his other stuff:

Do you collect Dorrough's prints? I found 2 signed numbered Frisco prints he did at a thrift store. Trying to find out possible value before I decide if I need them. Or maybe buy then donate to the museum. Or....

I hit the jackpot at a big ass yard sale in Tuscaloosa, AL yesterday. Couple of Hazel-Atlas starburst pattern glasses, A.L. Hirsch weiner dog dresser caddy, hair-on cowhide necktie, vintage Levis bandana, late 80s/early 90s truck stop swag western shirt, and a Chinasaur.

^^^^^ I’d say you did good Dale!

My wife’s birthday was this past week and we have been tossing around thoughts of getting a side-by-side ATV or a beater “farm” Jeep (as my wife doesn’t like to get her current Jeep Wrangler dirty and won’t drive it across the creek). Jewelry is also always a good choice. So I thought I had this covered when I came home with a beaded bracelet ($5) and a “Farm Jeep” ($10).

Now I’m sleeping in the shop and perusing ads for real Jeeps (or something in Sterling silver).
