Take a close up of the grain.
When I enlarge your picture it just turns blurry and does not reveal any grain.

I occasionally worry that it's about to crack up, but it doesn't seem to even after me worrying for years that it will (admittedly, I only worry about it for a few minutes per year). What do folks think? Has this jacket reached the point where it's finally dying, or have I just been carrying too many laden canvas bags on my shoulders? Under a slightly less aggressive light:

I live in Hong Kong, so I worry about the humidity (although the air con is good), but it's never gotten mould on it and there's no flaking. My Café Racer in battered seal is far more bashed-looking but only half as old.No way, for it to start cracking, it needs to be wet and dry out in the sun, quite often. When worn naturally, your jacket would need another 35 years or so before starting to see any cracks
