Wow - really coming along nicely! Great series of images as the jacket transitions. I encountered a similar situation when sunning my Natural Vicenza with area under pocket flaps and collar area where the sun doesn't hit.

A really special Type III - thanks for providing the progression images.

Here’s an update before I go through, what I hopefully believe, will be the last stage of this process.

Other than last reported, I tried something different, I left it out a couple weeks ago on a muggy summer day with sprinkles throughout, turning it over every few minutes, and taking it in for an hour or so to dry in the shade then taking it out again for another coat of sprinkles.

I did like 3 or 4 coats overall and by the end the jacket looked like next day burnt microwave pizza.

Afterwards I just let it dry in a well vented but shaded area for a couple weeks and this was the result.

Today I’m warming it up and gonna do a light mink oil rub while out in the sun to let it soak in and then I’m gonna let it dry out in the shade for a couple weeks and hopefully after that I’ll be done and will start getting some good use out of it.

You are a brave soul to have put that jacket through such an ordeal not sure of the outcome. Fortunately, the jacket looks super - the first series of images were horrifying but obviously worth the effort.

Killer color and excellent fit! What a risky journey you took—balls of steel

Here’s my Mister Freedom ranch blouse about a month in. I’ve basically just been wearing it as often as I can. Never set it out to tan and haven’t conditioned it yet, though it might be due for it soon. I just recently got caught in a sideways rain waiting for a bus so there has been some uneven soaking, which is why there are the drip stains on the back and chest.

The first time you tan it you will see a very huge change in the color. I was worried but the change was so nice I still am developing my speedster.

Has anyone used beeswax to finish their natural HH jacket? I need to try a small inside pocket to see how it would look and how dark it gets

This is a nice thread.

I’ll post the following:

1) the original color of the belt I wear
2) it’s current color
3) the start color of my Aero western shirt (the last cowboy)

For 3), I’m enjoying the process so far. I’m uncertain how I’ll proceed. While I remain uncertain I’ll just keep wearing it and see what happens.

Colour has changed substancially since then. Still my most worn jacket ever.

So many great transformations, love each and every one of them, a clear testament that these have to be worn to shine!
