Sleeve length

Was wondering if anyone knows the proper sleeve length for an overcoat?

I have mine hit at the 'V' where the thumb and index finger meet.

Preferably, long enough so that there's not a gap between your overcoat sleeves and the end of your gloves.

I should add that I wear my sleeves at the maximum length. It is perfectly acceptable to wear them shorter as long as they cover your jacket and shirt sleeves. There's an inch or two of personal preference to play with.
