My hat as some of you may recall from my other thread is just slightly too big, if the wind blows it will shift on my head and if i slowly shake my head side to side it will move. The hat has a leather band and is 100% wool construction.

Does anyone have and tips/hints/ideas on how i could get the hat to shrink every so slightly and conform to my skull?? i dont want it to lose its shape like ive heard happens with wool.

Have you tried a little foam inside the band? The Akubra hat I received in the mail today actually came with a piece of foam just for that purpose (it's the wrong hat but that's another story). The foam is about 1/8" thick and maybe 1/4" wide. What I have used on other hats is the kind of foam you can buy at the hardware store for sealing around doors and windows. About 3/4" wide and maybe 1/8" to 3/16" thick. I don't take the backing off to make it stick inside the hat, I just leave the backing on then cut a small piece and tuck it inside the sweat band on each side. You have to play with how much to use and where, but it will snug a loose hat right up for you.
