this makes me think of the film "Rocketeer"...

though I just looked at a poster pic from that film and its got snaps leading up the left side on the front, not a zipper... His is not distressed.

Here's my snake style jacket-

You can see from the last reference pic, the leather is pretty much exact. mine has no poppers on the collar, same as the original, and is quite a short cut, just like snake's. the only difference is mine has shoulder straps and no outer flap pocket...
