Another in my collection that used to be my dad's. The sweat's split in the back. I have the ribbon in a drawer somewhere. Other than that it's in great shape.
intentionally frayed ribbon, incredibly find felt. The sweatband's rolled over upon itself on the underside. Was this a feature so that your head would fit better?
how old?

do other stetsons of this era have the sweatband that's rolled over?
do other derbys have this feature?

I have a very similar Stetson derby with a similarly
rolled sweat. The sweat on that clear nutria cowboy
hat of mine is a bit like that, though it is getting
flattened out with stretching.

So Dinerman, what do you wear with the bowler?
I really love mine, but I just don't wear them much.

I have this same hat. There's a slit in the crown, and another where the brim meets the crown. I lent it out, and the sweat got destroyed. The borrower tried to fix it by gluing in a leather strap from a BELT. There's no liner, (should there be?), and it has the same frayed bow/ribbon. Best? It's a 7.5!

Are any of our hatters able to tackle a derby?
