Spoke to their rep and was told the hat appears up to spec. Apparently the 10x does not have as much lacquer applied as the 6x, thus the difference in stiffness and weight. I got the idea to bounce it up to a 20x. I asked them if I could do that and they said yes. So I paid an additional amount and ordered a Paradise 20x.

Picked up another Shasta in brown--more of a modern style (brick crown and a squared off taco brim). Also had a ribbon replace the felt band. Gotta tell you, the Shasta is not a bad hat. I'll try to get pictures of both the old and the new this weekend.
