Stetson velour, looks like Lot Number 6248 or 5248 to me (edit-can't decide). I'm estimating this is a 1920's to early 1930's hat. I've also posted this hat on the Pre-1940 Stetson Dress Hat thread.

Your first digit could be off. Is it clearer than the pic indicates? An unsewn sweatband usually indicative of pre-30s. 30s hats also usually have a roundel. All those are just pieces, the stamp #s have started to look more accurate over time.

*I’d also be interested to note how many 1900 París medallion hats came out after the 1915 medals - I don’t have a clue on that.

** Messages 325 and 326 (mine!) on this thread contradict my sweatband sewing note, so back again to the “usually means…” for the second time on the same thread!

I wish that first digit in the Lot Number was clearer, but it just isn't, unless I can do some enhancement of the photo. It did cross my mind that it might be a 5 instead of a 6, but if it was a 20's hat, I think the smaller reorder mfg tag might be brown, although I know there were also orange tags. Here's another photo with a filter, but don't know if it helps, but it does seem like it could be a 5.

In my post about this hat on the Pre-1940 Dress Hat thread, (in answer to your question about how many post 1915 hats had the 1900 Paris stamp) I mentioned that 2 hats on that Dress Hat thread's pg 37 both had that 1900 Paris stamp and also had the same Block Number as my hat, #729. I've gone through that entire thread earlier, noting every hat on that thread having the 1900 Paris stamp. If interested, they are on following pages: 8, 18, 19, 20, 31, 37, 38, 42, and 43.

A bowler or Derby with stiff crown. Lot Number 2105. Has 1900 Paris stamp. I guess it dates to about mid 1910's.

Stetson Number 1 Quality, Lot Number 6477, which I estimate dates ca. 1932-33.

Late 30's to early 40's Stetson 3X Beaver with Tailored Edge. Lot Number 7744, which is the same number as the Beaver Twenty Five on this page.
NOTE: The Lot Number is way back near the rear sweatband seam, so if you have early hats, you can't just assume the number is in the front of the sweatband.

I think the Lot Number placement at rear of hat was a rare mistake, that the sweatband was fed backwards into whatever machine stamps info on it. The reorder number usually found stamped on the right rear was found in the front, where the Lot Number is usually found.
