Steve Delk & Art Fawcett - Custom Hatters

Hello,

My first posting in your forum. After "snooping around" on this forum, I have reached a couple of conclusions:

1. There are some really "Great" Americans reading/posting here.

2. The names of Steve Delk & Art Fawcett are mentioned quite frequently and these are two truly, Great Americans. Both of these gentlemen have responded to my emails regarding my "Homburg quest" with incredible interest and sincere desire to help. Hey! It's the Holiday season, and yet, they both immediately responded to my inquiries. Great Americans!

3. Steve, couldn't meet my request given his demand for the "Indiana Jones" hat that he hand produces. Instead of simply "blowing me off", he strongly encouraged me to contact Art Fawcett with complete contact information. Hey! That's beautiful. That's upper echelon "American" attitude. Steve and Art are great examples of why "we" are so much better than our European counterparts.

4. This forum reminds me of the www.timezone.com forum which has many great Americans who are solely focused on wristwatches. I love these kinds of resources.

5. Passion is what makes America great! Whether it's hats or watches, American creativity, independance, and a desire to "sincerely" help is why we're are the best!

6. To all of you who have efficently and quickly helped a fellow American locate a truly great piece of history (albeit German or English) "WE" are able to perfect it! I truly look forward to my Homburg and proudly wearing it with my wife by my side.

American Passion! It is what makes us GREAT!

For the quality of materials, workmanship, customer service and prices that can't be beat. Art and Steve are the (go to) people for custom made hats.

I'll agree with the first part, as Art and Steve are both stand up gentlemen who make wonderful products, but some non-Americans might take offense to the latter part of the comment. I think it's great you love America so much, but to say we're better than Europeans is taking it a bit too far. Let's be careful out there.

I found that statement...

...somewhat peculiar!!! Especially the last few lines! I just returned from Europe last month. Although I didn't seem many great hats I did meet a lot of really great people! To all the so-called non-americans in the Lounge I consider you all to be a solid part of this more facinating, and informative group called Fedora Lounge!

I like to think of this as a community of it's own, and I don't really give much thought to who is from where. So, let's keep nationalism in it's proper place, and be patriotic about being citizens of the Fedora Lounge! :cheers1:

Art and Steve are my two absolute favorite hatters! My finest hats are my Adventurebilt and my Art Fawcett Fino Fino Panama. These guys can't be beat for quality and customer service. Both are perfectionists and you will NOT be dissapointed

Thanks for the kind words. I think this chap who made the post just got through listening to Sean Hannity. He was still charged up. ;)

I love it that these forums draw folks from all over the world. We all more similiar than we are different. I love the international flavor of this forum and COW. It would be rather boring if only Americans posted here. Thank you-internet. Only here can an old southern boy talk with folks from all over the world. We just need more of this. Fedora

There are certainly some good hat makers in Europe, as well as South America. Needless to say, there are good people all over the world. Maybe this fellow needs to get out and travel a bit...KC

I've had Montecristi hats blocked by several people.

The best have been by Art Fawcett and Gary White.

I don't have any of Fedora's hats, but I've handled them. I know he's made one of our Montecristis and we're still trying to find him the perfect semi calado.
